Web Development Using ASP / ASP.NET
Introduction
We have been developing dynamic database driven websites since 1998 initially using IDC/HTX which was Microsoft's
forerunner to ASP. ASP has subsequently been superceded by ASP.NET underpinned by the hugely powerful .NET framework.
Active Server Pages (ASP)
Due to the huge popularity of ASP.NET we now find we are doing very little ASP development however due to our
extensive experience we are still able to provide assistance if required.
ASP.NET
ASP.NET is nothing like ASP and in our view is a fantastic product offering huge power and flexibility due to the
incredibly powerful .NET framework. We develop ASP.NET website applications using both C# and VB.NET with C#
accounting for about 90% of the code we write.
ASP.NET offers a suite of controls to enable a database driven website to be up & running fairly quickly. Due to
the number of available controls and power of the .NET framework it is possible to develop extremely complex and
sophisticated website applications.
